Greenville firm inspired by military background hiring veterans
A Greenville businessman and Marine said he had trouble finding work after leaving the military and is now making an effort to help other veterans find jobs.
John Warren started real estate lending firm Lima One Capital because he didn’t see the opportunity to start a career.
“I experienced what a lot of veterans hear: ‘John, thank you for your service. We think you are a great guy. You just don’t have the experience for us to hire you,'” Warren said.
And now roughly 20 percent of Warren’s employees are veterans, including his chief operating officer John Thompson. Thompson was deployed with Warren in Iraq and thinks the common traits among vets is what makes their company work.
